Session Times
We offer a range of different sessions depending on the age of the children. When your child first starts Pre-School we will do everything we can to ensure they settle in as quickly as possible. Please tell our staff of any worries you or your child has and we will endeavour to help as much as we can.

Pre-School Sessions
We offer a range of different sessions depending on the age of the children. When your child first starts Pre-School we will do everything we can to ensure they settle in as quickly as possible.
Please tell staff of any worries you or your child has and we will endeavour to help as much as we can.
General Sessions
On arrival, your child can choose their own activity to start the session. When all parents have left the hall, the front door will be bolted so that no one enters or leaves without an adult being aware.
During the session the children are encouraged to help tidy away the toys, ready for refreshments. No large equipment or tables are moved unless all children are sitting on the large story mat.
After refreshments other activities are arranged, often including large group activities.
Structured Sessions (Rising 5’s)
These sessions aim to prepare the children for school. As a rough guide the session goes as follows;
- Children take off their own outdoor clothes.
- Weather, news and register.
- Activity/craft at table all together.
- Free play.
- Milk Bar when children pour their own drinks.
- Physical play together – exercise, games and music.
- Table top toys, books, puzzles and writing.
- Stories and songs.
- Home. Children put on their own coats before the session ends.
Once a week the children are able to choose a Pre-School book to keep for the week. They are also given a home sheet related to work we have done in the session, that they can complete at home and return the next week if they wish. This is not compulsory and not meant to be a chore, but some children enjoy doing Pre-School work at home.
